Associate Director of Research Operations
Medicine – Tulane Research Innovation for Arrhythmia Discoveries (TRIAD)
Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
To help continue the growth at the Tulane Research Innovation for Arrhythmia Discovery (TRIAD) Center, we’re seeking an experienced Associate Director of Research Operations to join our highly skilled team. The Associate Director of Research Operations is responsible for the management of clinical and laboratory research staff including study coordinator, research nurse, and research fellows. The ideal candidate will have proven senior management experience with excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. The person in this role will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of all clinical and laboratory research including planning research studies, monitoring study progress, supporting team members. In addition, the Associate Director of Research Operations will work closely with superiors and executive-level management to define strategic goals for the Center as well as develop and implement operational plans in order to achieve said goals. Furthermore, the candidate will develop and maintain relationships with external investigators, funding partners, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
• Outstanding negotiation, communication and people skills
• In depth knowledge of diverse operations functions and principles (e.g., resource management, finance)
• Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity
• Ability to streamline and implement new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Five years operations management experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Ph.D or M.D.
• 5+ years of experience managing and training clinical and laboratory research staff
• 5+ years of experience conducting cardiovascular research studies
• In-depth knowledge of diverse operation functions and principles related to clinical and laboratory research
• Outstanding organizational, negotiation, communication, and leadership, and people skills demonstrated by previous professional success
• Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity
