Custodial Worker I

Cleans and maintains on a daily basis all halls, offices, shops, classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, labs, gym areas, locker rooms, elevators which includes sweeping, dusting, dust-mopping, wet-mopping, spot-mopping, reconditioning of floors and spot washing and cleaning of walls, doors, and partitions

Cleans and maintains all floors and floor coverings which includes regular duties such as vacuuming, shampooing, striping, sealing and waxing

Cleans all entrances, entrances walks, steps, patios, and concourses

Spot cleans and cleans all exterior and interior glass surfaces of all assigned buildings; cleans ceiling lights and Venetian blinds

Empties and cleans all waste cans, trashcans, recycle bins, water fountains and doormats

Normal Work Schedule: Monday through Friday – 5:00PM to 1:30AM (evening hours positions will receive an additional 5% shift differential for working night shift.)  Total hourly rate when working evening shift with be $15.75 hourly. 

Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or departmental needs.

Some overtime may be required.

Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.

A Criminal background check and post offer health assessment will be conducted.

$15.00 hourly base pay with an additional .75 added for working night shift.

Completion of ninth grade.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

High school diploma and two (2) years of commercial custodial experience.
