Associate Director of Career Advising and Employer Strategy

Position Summary: The Associate Director, Career Advising and Employer Strategy will represent the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development while building relationships with companies currently not engaged with Yeshiva University, and in areas that represent those of growth and focus in the industry as well as at YU. In addition, the individual coaches and advises students, individually and in groups, on issues related to career planning strategies in various fields. Measurable criteria will be established for employer development goals, maintaining records, and submitting monthly reports.
Employers will be courted and followed up with as they move through the relationship development and management process with the goal of bringing mentors, internships, employment opportunities and experiential opportunities to the students at YU.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Identify and prospect employers for YU students through a targeted employer outreach campaign strategy under the direction of the Senior Director of Employer Relations & Engagement
  • Create employer engagement campaigns in our CRM while utilizing a customized and targeted email marketing strategy
  • Unify data from many sources to create interactive, immersive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights and drive business results
  • In conjunction with other staff, develop and implement a career readiness program for students focusing on First Time on Campus (FTOC) cohort
  • Act as co-lead of departmental Salesforce implementation team
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Career Advising and Technology on various career advising-related initiatives
  • In conjunction with Senior Director, relaunch Alumni Affinity Group events, to include sourcing of appropriate alumni participates to enable the furthering of the Center’s goals
  • Meet with existing employers and new leads on a consistent basis, virtually and in person, dependent upon Covid -19 safety guidelines; use a resourceful approach utilizing both personal connections and those obtained online or via social outlets; develop strategy for sourcing leads in new and innovative ways
  • Meet criteria established for employer development goals, maintaining records, and submitting monthly reports; demonstrate excellent analytical skills while evaluating and implementing recruiting needs
  • Develop a strategy to maintain the high level of interpersonal communication the Center has with employers to include social outings such as meals, taking prospects for coffee, and sending appropriate gifts and tokens of appreciation for employers who have partnered with YU
  • Create engagement strategies for virtual and in-person outreach; both local and outside of the NYC Metro area
  • Position does not involve travel outside of NYC
  • Advise employers on marketing strategies that will help them build their brand(s) on campus and increase loyalty to Yeshiva University and its students
  • In collaboration with Center staff, work with academic departments, Deans, Chairs, faculty, University Advancement, and other University staff to help foster connections to employers and to expand experiential and employment opportunities for students
  • Communicate the strengths, and historical and present successes, of our students and alumni to potential employers
  • Collaborate with staff and faculty who play a role in the success of our students and alumni
Experience & Education Background:
  • Minimum 5 year’s experience working in a customer service, career advising and/or recruiting role
  • Master’s degree preferred; directly related experience considered
  • Knowledge of engagement and relationship building strategies
  • Able to use a CRM to input and track students; create applicable report queries to present progress with students
  • Demonstrable growth in a client focused position
