The Department of Environmental Sciences at Rutgers-New Brunswick invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions within a new faculty cluster: Advancing STEM Diversity in Environmental Engineering – Urban Environments, Health, Climate Change, and Environmental Justice (https://academicaffairs.rutgers.edu/strategic-diversity-cluster-hires). We are broadly looking for candidates with expertise in Geoenvironmental Engineering or Geoscience of Urban Systems, including, but not limited to, the interactions among ecosystem functions of soil, water, and natural or anthropogenic materials or structures in the subsurface of urban environments, and in resilient, sustainable urban systems in the face of climate change; and in Environmental Informatics, including, but not limited to, the use of sensor-enabled systems and/or the exploitation of big data for analyzing and managing environmental systems that overlap with environmental health and justice impacts from shifts in urban environments caused by climate change.

Qualifications: Preferred candidates have a B.S. in an engineering or science discipline and a Ph.D. in environmental engineering, civil engineering, geoscience, environmental science, soil science, or related science/engineering disciplines, and have demonstrated the ability to conduct research, write grants, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and mentor students.
