| Job Summary: | The UW-Madison Dance Department seeks a colleague to develop and teach courses in Hip Hop and related dance forms, cultures, and aesthetics. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Hip Hop and at least one other African/Diasporic dance form at all levels. The preferred candidate will also have expertise and experience teaching in one of the following areas: Contemporary Dance, Screendance, Dance History, Dance Studies, Composition, Movement Analysis, and/or Ethnic Studies. We seek a colleague who will contribute to and help further our ongoing commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and antiracism within our curricular development. The position comes with ample opportunity to develop connections and collaborate on projects and events across campus and within the local, regional, and state communities. |

| Responsibilities: | Teaching: Develop and teach courses in the theory and practice of Hip Hop (beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels) and at least one other African/Diasporic form that may include jazz, tap, or urban/social dance. Additional teaching in at least one of the following areas: Dance History, Dance Studies, Composition, Improvisation, Movement Analysis, Teaching Methods, and/or other movement practices. Contribute to department curricular and program development around Hip Hop and African/Diasporic dance. |
