| Position Description | Harvard’s Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (HSCRB; http://hscrb.harvard.edu/faculty ), a department singularly bridging the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Harvard Medical School (HMS), is currently recruiting a tenure-track professor to join its multi-disciplinary research and teaching mission. HSCRB faculty members’ research spans broad areas of science, with an emphasis on understanding human biology, and our primary goal in this search is to identify faculty candidates who will advance exciting scientific programs that complement our current research foci. Candidates with a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, a track-record of research accomplishments, and an innovative research plan are invited to apply. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, mechanistic studies of the early events in human development and organ formation, applications of genome engineering strategies to living systems, and/or efforts to control and manipulate cell identity. The successful candidate will be located on Harvard’s Cambridge campus and will benefit from state-of-the-art research facilities, strong institutional and departmental commitment to career development, and a vibrant, collaborative research enterprise that brings together fundamental biology and medical science to create unique scientific and educational opportunities. Appointments will be made at the academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, in accordance with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments. The appointee will teach and advise undergraduate and graduate students and will have the opportunity to teach medical and business students. We are committed to building a core faculty with a diversity of backgrounds. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Candidates should also demonstrate intellectual leadership with the aim of carrying out impactful and significant research that will be recognized by the department, university, and wider scholarly community. |

For candidates for a tenure-track position, at least one letter must come from someone who has not served as the candidate’s undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral advisor. |
