Pay Grade/Pay Range:  M3 Monthly (exempt): – Minimum – $ 44,283.20 Midpoint – $ 77,500.80

Department/Organization: 509101 – Construction Administration

Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Job Summary: The Assistant Field Coordinator will assist with management of field operations as the owner’s representative on multiple projects of various size, complexity and duration. Assist in monitoring inspections, quality, and schedule to ensure a successful completion. Construction Administration emergency operations support as directed by Incident Command and support UA events as directed.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree one (1) year of experience in construction, engineering, or project management; OR High School Diploma and five (5) years of experience in construction, engineering, or project management.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Skills and Knowledge: Willingness to learn the construction industry and develop personal skills for dealing with all the varied companies and individuals encountered. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language. Understanding of project plans, specifications and other documents. Proficient with personal computers to include word processing, spreadsheets, and email applications.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) or more years of commercial construction experience. One (1) or more years of experience working in a college campus environment. Experience in performing inspection of mechanical, plumbing and/or electrical systems. Experience working in an institutional environment with multiple projects with various systems. Some knowledge of commercial construction including codes and standards and means and methods. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
