Summary of Job Duties:

The APRN will extend the patient care and administrative services for the UAMS Women and Infants Service Line (WISL) physicians in both inpatient and outpatient settings. APRN will be expected provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments. The APRN will also manage health issues for patients, independently or in collaboration with the designated physicians. The APRN will work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient’s health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate. The APRN will also coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

Qualifications:

Required:

Master’s Degree in nursing

Minimum 2 years nursing experience

Must be able to operate all typical nursing equipment essential to performing the job (i.e., scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, and EKG machines).

Must have normal communication sensory requirement.

Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated.

Licensed:

Registered Nurse in Arkansas

Valid APRN License

Preferred:

Preferred nursing experience in obstetrical or gynecological setting

Prescriptive authority and DEA license must be obtained after hire
