Analyst Financial/Project Management II – Pediatrics Central Administration

Position Summary
Prepares and analyses, complex financial information, which provides management with recommendations and documentation used in financial research planning and budgeting in the Department of Pediatrics. Also, serves as Executive Administrator over the Children’s Discovery Institute (CDI) financial activities.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes and maintains complex cost data to produce quarterly and annual financial reports used by management and Executive Director of Research. Provides necessary interpretation and explanation of work product as needed to peers and  leadership.
  • Participates in development, preparation, review and evaluation of annual strategic planning project and budgeting process. May provide project management in support of unique and on-going initiatives.
  • Participates in execution of CDI annual report and Investor’s Symposium.
  • Prepares and presents financial information to the CDI Board of Managers meetings.
  • Develops and prepares presentation of complex financial results to administration relative to departmental operations, payroll and personnel administration, grants administration, purchasing and accounts payable/receivable functions. Ensures accuracy and thoroughness of reports along with retaining for future reference and development.
  • Assists with development and utilization of other complex financial models and analysis.
  • Plan, develop and prepare special financial reports for management and Executive Director of Research.
  • Attends meetings, education programs, workshops and keeps abreast of current policies and procedures.
  • May assists in update/maintenance of asset/space records, inventory levels and related project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration or related advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with M.S. Office suite tools including spreadsheets, with analytical skills and University accounting system utilities.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to present information to leadership.
  • Demonstrated business acumen – understands and can express the financial bottom line impact.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative data and analysis and build action plans that identify gaps and tactics to aid/supply management with creative alternatives or solutions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with various leaders and contacts.

Required Qualifications

Equivalent of BS in business/accounting related field with more than five years of experience in finance/budgets and business management areas.

Salary Range
$47,300.00 – $78,200.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
