Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Advancement, this position provides administrative assistance and support to the college’s advancement colleagues and manages the college’s gift acknowledgement and stewardship process. This position supports the Assistant Dean of Advancement and the operations of the overall team. Responsible to coordinate, manage, and oversee the college advancement activities of a diverse college spanning 12 departments and 3 schools which serve over 5,000 students and 60,000 alumni annually. Make decisions on daily management of advancement office activities to ensure efficient management of multiple projects, priorities and special events.
The gift acknowledgement and stewardship function are critical to the college’s fundraising success. This position is responsible for accurate and timely gift tracking and producing donor thank you letters for college-level and department gifts. The office acknowledges over 4,000 individual gifts each year to donors around the world.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience providing administrative and programmatic support in an academic or professional environment; basic accounting skills; proficiency with current office software such as word processing, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and databases; excellent organizational skills; requisite communication and interpersonal skills necessary to work in a high traffic office and interact with a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, alumni, volunteers, donors, and friends.
Preferred Qualifications
Office management experience; advanced computer skills to include MS Office Suite, Excel and Banner applications and reports; experience with travel coordination; knowledge of university/state policies and procedures related to travel and student records management; experience managing the calendars/scheduling appointments for management or executives; experience with event planning; experience in a university, development, or fundraising environment.
Salary Information
Commensurate with experience with a salary range of $48,000-$53,000 per year
