Admissions Phone Counselor

High Point University is currently seeking a full-time Admissions Phone Counselor. This position will report to an Associate or Assistant Director of Admissions. The selected candidate is responsible for being the first point of contact for prospective students by answering incoming contacts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, learning details involved in the admissions, application and campus visit process and providing callers with an extraordinary experience while communicating with High Point University.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelors Degree preferred

Experience and Training:

• Positive Customer service experience
• Phone experience a plus
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to perform calmly under stressful situations

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
• Some knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and the Internet
• Ensures all incoming calls to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at High Point University are answered
• Monitors and answers the live admissions chat
• Monitors and responds to admiss@highpoint.edu email inbox
• Learns the key functions of the admissions office and process
• Answers key questions asked by callers
• Forwards specific calls to the appropriate party at HPU
• Gives all callers an extraordinary experience while communicating with HPU
• Strong partner for Admissions Counselors
• Supports for the Admissions Documents Team
• Coverage and support for Admissions Campus Visit Team
• Occasional data entry
• Performs other related duties as assigned
