The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Bioengineering is seeking an Administrator for the Bridge Program. This position will provide high-level administrative support for the Bridge Program and the Program Director. The incumbent will be responsible for managing trainees, drafting formal correspondence, memorandums and other confidential documents as directed. The incumbent is also responsible for tracking training costs, adjusting trainee stipends, helping to prepare financial information and the subsequent monitoring of budgets for training-related grants as well as preparation of the grant progress reports along with the PI. The incumbent will be in charge of the program website and social media, perform logistics for meetings, retreats, lectures and presentations.
As the Administrator of the Bridge Program, the incumbent must demonstrate the ability to manage the challenges of supporting senior level personnel, exercising flexibility and efficiency at all times, and must be congenial, have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to function in a team environment. Incumbent must also have the ability to be flexible while working with a high degree of autonomy and discretion. The incumbent will ensure that all administrative activities and operations for the Bridge Program are conducted seamlessly through careful attention to detail and consistent follow-up and oversight. The incumbent may recommend program policy and procedure changes to ensure smooth operation of the program and coordination of its faculty and staff. Internal University of Pittsburgh experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 years of related work experience. Prior experience working for a training program is preferred. Experience working in an academic setting or supporting training initiatives is strongly desired. Internal University of Pittsburgh experience preferred. Interested in supporting the advancement of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
