Job Description:
Under general supervision, perform a variety of routine accounting duties in accordance with standard accounting procedures. Check and verify completeness and accuracy of information for data entry; review submitted documents for accuracy and/or correctness; perform data entry. Serve as resource to employees and customers; provide information and assist with resolution of problems. Code regular entries for distribution to accounts. Prepare journal entries; audit disbursement vouchers, debit and credit memos and so forth. Check, post and reconcile special account records; assist with trial balance and preparation of statements and reports.
Accounts Payable Functions:
Set up new vendor accounts: verify W-9 and compliance with sam.gov and OFAC
Process accounts payable invoices for payment.
Confirm accuracy of processed checks and weekly disbursements.
Respond to vendor and department inquiries.
File AP documents and journal vouchers. Manage filing system.
AP Operations Support:
Track and verify 1099’s monthly/quarterly.
Research and check details of expense transfers. Initiate journal voucher.
Sort and distribute daily incoming mail to department personnel.
Record and maintain daily log of incoming checks.
Order office supplies as needed.
Process office equipment repair requests.
Update and create electronic/hard copy files of AP procedures.
Audit purchase card statements / Expense reports submittals
Maintain Colorado payback records
Issue/process stop payments/ voids
Other Duties as Assigned:
Provide backup for co-technician when necessary.
Provide backup for monthly sales tax returns.
Other duties as assigned by AP Accountant.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in accounting or other related field plus one (1) year of experience with data entry and/ or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Strong organization skills and detail oriented.
Experience with computerized accounting systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP database.
Background in higher education, governmental funds, and/or non-profit accounting.
Two years of Accounts Payable experience.

$40,676.00
Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
