Vaccination Requirement

The University of Nebraska Medicine Center (UNMC) requires COVID-19 vaccinations for all students, staff, and faculty. All employees must be fully vaccinated unless they have requested and been approved for an exemption based on a recognized medical reason, a sincerely held religious belief, or a pre-approved, 100% remote work agreement. Fully vaccinated means having received one dose of a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) or both doses of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (Moderna and Pfizer).

As a prospective and/or a new employee at UNMC, you will be/are required to comply with the UNMC’s vaccination protocol. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers will have five (5) days from the date of hire to provide proof of partial or full vaccination or to request a medical or religious exemption. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with proof of partial vaccination may have up to thirty-five (35) days from the hire date to be in full compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers who receive a denial of a request for medical or religious exemption will be given five (5) business days from exemption denial notification date to provide proof of compliance with this policy. Non-faculty new hires, rehires and transfers with no approved exemption who fail to comply with this policy will be separated.

Position Summary Zone Facility Technician III will successfully complete Preventive Maintenance, Work Orders and Minor Renovations and to include the following trades: HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Temperature controls, Lighting and Electrical. 
Capable of performing and assisting with the diagnostic testing and analysis of systems referenced above and make repairs necessary for normal operation.

Required Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent

(NOTE: Concentration and minors are not equivalent to a major) Facilities Management, related field or completion of an approved trade program in any of the following related trade programs: HVAC, Plumbing, Refrigeration, Lighting, Temperature Controls, Electrical.

3) Successfully complete safety training courses and adhere to safety procedures. 
4) Ability to effectively communicate with campus customers and Technicians. 
5) Ability to effectively problem solve and troubleshoot issues and problems.
