Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Xteriors Specifications Manager to join our TEAM! As the Xteriors Specification Manager we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as developing new specification strategies and training support to maximize sales efforts across company sales teams.

Primary Objective

Increase product sales of Xteriors Outdoor Living Program to achieve company objectives. Work closely with VP Sales to develop specifications and sales activities to drive market penetration while maximizing margin potential.

Major Function and Scope

Work across all business segments to generate specifications of Xteriors products inclusive of accessory items

Support achievement of revenue, budget and other defined business objectives for the Xteriors Outdoor Living segment

Actively track project pipeline to support product & sales forecasting as well as secure orders

Collaborates with VP Sales to develop specification strategies and training support to maximize sales efforts across company personnel

Develop & maintain hardscapes industry knowledge, inclusive of key competitors, for role as subject matter expert for specifications team

Develops T2T business relationships with key national & regional specifiers inclusive of landscape architects and developers

Conducts joint presentations w/company reps, as necessary, to secure specifications

Acts as primary point of contact and support for specification sales personnel (external/internal)

Keep Xteriors Salesforce library specifications content current for sales organization

Collaborates with various departments at headquarters to help develop and implement programs as well as forecast product service

Support seamless product launches for sales personnel and key specifiers

Represents the Company at trade association events and product shows, as requested, to promote company products / services

Analyzes market routinely to determine customer needs, product recommendations, product pricing & service enhancements

Participates, as required, in annual budgeting process

Performs other assigned duties as required to support the organization

Experience and Knowledge Required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of commercial specification process required. Experience or exposure to Hardscape Industry a plus.

Five plus years of commercial or new home construction specification and related sales experience.


Self-starter with high leadership quotient, exceptional presentation skills, strong organization, oral & written communication skills and training/development capability. Demonstrate strong independent judgement, ability to influence & negotiation skills. Good strategic thinking capability, planning, problem-solving and conflict resolution. Ability to handle adversity, schedule, relate ideas and coordinate priorities. Competent with Microsoft Office software.
