Writer-in-Residence

The Fannie Hurst Writer-in-Residence position is a two-year, half-time appointment with a teaching load of five courses, total. That is, two courses one year, three courses the other year.  Candidates should be available to teach at least one course each semester.  Additional responsibilities include holding regular weekly office hours and mentoring Creative Writing students who are completing honors work.

This position is eligible for benefits and begins with the Fall 2023 semester. Salary range is $40-42K, depending on credentials.

Brandeis University, located 20 minutes west of Boston, is an intimate research University founded on progressive ideals. The school has a strong commitment to social justice, science, and the humanities. The Creative Writing major resides in the English Department and is an undergraduate-only program. Creative Writing classes are small and mixed-level.
