The WBG Budget and Procurement Vice Presidency (WBP) provides trusted advice and services in resource management, strategic planning, budget execution, and corporate procurement management. WBP helps the World Bank Group align its resources with strategic priorities and manage them effectively. WBP is organized into five departments: IBRD/IDA Budget Partners for Regional Units (WBPRU), WBG Budget Partners for Corporate and Knowledge Units (WBPCU), WBG Centers of Excellence (WBPCE), WBG Corporate Procurement (WBPCP), IFC & MIGA Budget Partners (CSRDR).
WBPCH, part of WBPCE, is a centralized, tech-forward center for delivering end-to-end automated processes including transaction support, building and maintaining budget tools, internal controls, business processing and analytics, and systems stewardship across IBRD, IFC, and MIGA.
WBPCH team is looking to recruit Finance Analysts. Finance Analysts are expected to be skilled in business finance analytics, process and data management, controls; able to support decision-making through the provision of timely, fit for purpose information on the management of financial resources across all funding sources. They are expected to be fully proficient in cost analysis and monitoring, research, interpretation and summarization of data in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that the day-to-day WBP work program is handled in an effective and efficient manner. In line with the competencies listed below, Finance Analysts are expected to be proficient in the core WBP systems, processes and policies and in deploying appropriate emerging technology such as Power tools, AI, RPA for process, reporting and analytics transformation. They are expected to work with the senior members of the team, internal stakeholders and external clients.
All WBP staff are expected to be fungible and able to work across different assignments over time depending on business needs and professional development objectives.
The job holder(s) will report to a Chennai-based Finance Officer within the team.

Selection Criteria
• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Management, or other relevant discipline (OR) Non-Finance Bachelor’s + completed advance Diploma in Accounting or equivalent accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA, CGMA, CMA).
• Minimum Years of Relevant Experience: 2 years in a relevant field, e.g. accounting, finance, business.
• Strong understanding of business-critical accounting and reporting processes and applications, including SAP, AO, BPC/Jedox
• Expertise with CRM tools, enhanced by practical experience in NLP, automated text workflows, and AI-powered chatbot content generation
• Initiative, Strong interpersonal skills, and Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost analysis, or management accounting.
• Ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and variances, and provide practical recommendations to support business decisions.
• Experience developing financial models, reports, dashboards, and analytical products to support planning, monitoring, and performance review activities.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles, budget processes, internal controls, and financial management practices.
• Experience working with financial systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, financial databases, or corporate planning tools.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using business intelligence, data visualization, and reporting tools.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct scenario, trend, and variance analysis and communicate assumptions, risks, and potential impacts to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytical tools and the ability to apply responsible AI practices when supporting financial analysis and reporting.
• Researches new and emerging technologies, processes, methodologies, and practices. Evaluates the potential value of the technology for use in applications within the organization. Defines the processes and practices for evaluating new technologies and their potential value to the business. Prepares recommendations for applying the technology in enhancing, modifying or replacing current technologies already in place.
• Provides specialist expertise in process management, improvement, and automation, including self-service, using tools such as RPA, OCR, machine learning, and AI. Leads end-to-end process redesign across functions, integrating data, controls, and user experience, with governance, KPIs, and dashboards. Builds business cases (cycle time, cost, error rate reductions) and tracks realized value; coordinates change management and training. Architects resilient automation using RPA, OCR, APIs, and ML, including exception handling.
