The
School of Applied Sciences and Technology (SAST) is currently recruiting for a
Coordinator of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to join their team.  Reporting to the Associate Dean, Industry
Engagement, and working with Chairs of various programs, this position will
facilitate participation of students, faculty, and employers in both mandatory
and optional WIL programs in the School of Applied Sciences and
Technology. 

The purpose of this work is to
improve holistic student success at NAIT, and ultimately, student success in
the workplace.

The incumbent in this position will
lead the development, growth, and delivery of WIL programs within SAST. The
position coordinates the student placement process, works with the academic
programs, and liaises with industry partners to foster additional WIL
opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop
    connections, respond to questions, and maintain relationships with employers
    for WIL opportunities.
  • Assist
    employers in development of job postings for WIL positions.
  • Work with
    funding agencies to help secure funding for employers.
  • Market and
    promote WIL opportunities to students.
  • Facilitate
    opportunities for students to connect with employers.
  • Provide
    administrative oversight on WIL course delivery (conducted in close partnership
    with instructor).
  • Monitor,
    maintain, and mediate student & employer experience and relationships
  • Work with
    program admin to ensure all WIL related reports and paperwork are maintained
    and completed in a timely manner.
  • Work to
    develop effective and efficient processes in SAST WIL programs.
  • Assist with the
    development and ongoing review of WIL policies and procedures.
  • Collect and
    report on employer and student feedback on work terms.
  • Maintain accurate
    reports of WIL students and programs for statistical purposes and makes
    recommendations for adjustments
  • Join and participate in program or community
    events.
  • Other tasks
    as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Related
    post-secondary diploma with considerable related experience
  • Experience
    with a Work Integrated Learning program would be an asset

 

Remuneration:    $2,320.28 – $3,109.48
bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package. 
(classification
– Coordinator I – AUPE)

This position is covered by the AUPE
(Alberta Union of Provincial Employees) Collective Agreement.
