Brief summary of this position:
The Assistant Director works with the Executive Director of the Work Colleges Consortium to coordinate the internal and external programs of the Consortium. The Assistant Director maintains the Consortium budgets and is responsible for financial accounts and processes. The Assistant Director manages all logistical and travel arrangements for Consortium meetings and activities. The Assistant Director supports the Executive Director in advocacy work and tracking federal funding and pertinent federal legislation. Travel is required to support the work of the Consortium.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education required to ensure success in this position:
• Bachelor’s Degree, required

Experience required to ensure success in this position:
• 3 – 5 years of administrative/professional experience in Higher Education

Special skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Superior communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel;
• Ability to create and manage budgets and financial processes;
• High level of attention to detail;
• Banner software experience preferred;
• Prior experience in a confidential role preferred;
• Must be capable of working independently as well as in a team setting.

License, certification, or registration necessary:

• Valid Driver’s License

Physical requirements:
• Ability to work independently;
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time with computer use;
• Ability to frequently use computers and other standard office equipment;

Primary duties and responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Support the work of all Consortium groups and the Presidents Council, including note taking and recording of minutes;
• Maintain financial accounts and coordinate budgetary processes;
• Help coordinate and administer the Faculty/Staff research grants and Service Project grants;
• Manage logistical arrangements and travel for all Consortium groups, meetings, and activities;
• Facilitate and assist with research projects and activities;
• Provide executive assistance to the Director and the WCC Presidents, including writing, editing and proofing of all business and legislative correspondence;
• Support the advocacy efforts of the Consortium related to federal funding and federal legislation.
• Able to work with a diverse group of institutions and interests;
• Assist the Executive Director in working with U.S. Department of Education.
• Collect and update all Consortium operations data and understand the work program operations at each of the work colleges;
• Provide information, training, and guidance for new work colleges and institutions interested in the model;
• Maintain Consortium files and records;
• Monitor and facilitate content updates to the WCC website;
• Handle discreet information and maintain strict confidentiality.

Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all staff, faculty and students.
