(Senior Scientist)

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14
times per year): B1, € 3.578,80 (without Doctorate), B1 lit. b, € 4.752,30 (with Doctorate)This position is offered within BOKU Core Facility Food and Bio Processing, a service-oriented unit of
BOKU University that provides a range of services to academic and industrial partners, including
research and development (R&D) and teaching.Responsibilities
As food technologist with a profound engineering background and focus on process-product
interactions, you are responsible for managing and supporting projects and activities with
customers from academia and industry. In this position, advancing personal research is not a
focus
Project Management: Lead and manage projects, including experimental planning, execution,
and post-experiment fol ow-up (e.g. recording and analyzing process data, evaluating results,
and reporting)
Assist academic and industrial partners with process design and optimization, prototyping, and
training initiatives
Collaboration in the fields of food microbiology and biotechnology as well as food quality
Planning and conducting analyses of raw materials and product quality parameters
Infrastructure and Equipment: Support the maintenance, further improvement and expansion
of facility equipment and infrastructure
Support in promoting the Core Facility through stakeholder and customer management and
public relation activities
Administrative tasks related to the Core Facility management tools (e.g. project management
software) in al stages (project creation, client management, booking of equipment, etc.)
Planning and performing teaching activities and workshops/trainings within the university
operations or in external courses
Writing of reports and support in raising of external funds for research infrastructureRequired skills and qualifications
Doctoral degree/PhD in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or similar, with a focus on process
engineering
Diploma degree in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or similar, with a focus on process
engineering or other equivalent university degree
Language skil s: German (fluent), English (fluent)
Food technologist with a profound engineering background and focus on process-product
interactionsExpertise and experience in formulation and powder technology (emulsification, spray drying,
agglomeration), or in the field of electrotechnologies (Pulsed electric fields, Ohmic heating) is
advantageous
The research and activities in this position are intended to support client projects of Core
Facility Food and Bio Processing, not personal researchDesirable skills and qualifications
Significant theoretical and hands-on-experience with design and optimization of products,
processes and equipment
High wil ingness to support & work in a team of technicians and scientists
Previous experience in pilot plant operation, trial planning, and reporting to stakeholders from
industry and academia
Didactic skil s and proof of successful teaching activities
Experience in acquisition of (research) projects
Ability to communicate complex information clearly
