Job Summary:

The WIDA Research Coordinator position is located within Educator Learning, Research, and Practice (ELRP) department and will report to the designated ELRP Assistant Director. This position will be responsible for a) coordinating research and professional learning activities conducted with participating educators and local school districts; b) tracking and maintaining records contributing to the research and evaluation conducted in the program; and c) conducting research activities under the direction of a researcher and/or program administrator. The WIDA Research Coordinator will be expected to travel to partner sites within Wisconsin approximately 8 times per year. The person in this role would need to within driving distance of the partner sites located throughout rural Wisconsin. Driving mileage will be reimbursed per UW Madison Travel Policy. The FTE of this position is 50% time. However, the FTE may increase if more grants are awarded.
Working fully remote is an option for this position as long as you are within driving distance of the partner sites as mentioned above. Requests to work remotely would need to be reviewed based on the UW and School of Education (SoE) remote work policies and go through the SoE implementation process. Responsibilities: Supports the development, design, and implementation of research projects according to plans, under the general direction of faculty and/or senior research personnel, following established protocols and guidelines to support and advance research in a given field under general supervision.
  • 30% Assists with conducting experiments or interviews, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting results according to established protocols
  • 10% Assists in composing and organizing research reports and manuscripts to provide updates on unit objectives
  • 30% Schedules logistics and secures resources for research supplies, equipment, and facilities
  • 10% Tracks supply and equipment inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • 20% Maintains organization of research records according to established policies and procedures

– Ability to collaborate with others to coordinate research timeline and deliverables.

– A willingness to engage in and deepen knowledge of WIDA’s Social Justice value.
Preferred
– Familiarity with K-12 educational settings and professional development.
– Experience in coordinating research activities and procedures.

Work Schedule:

Employees are expected to work within WIDA’s core hours, which are 9:00am to 3:00pm CST.

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% – 100%
It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.
