The Opportunity:

Embry-Riddle is now hiring a WellEagle Mental Health and Wellness Coordinator at the Daytona Beach campus. This is a 10-month position working 30 hours per week, in-person. This position is grant-funded for up to three years. This position includes Embry-Riddle’s health & wellness benefits, personal leave, and a generous retirement plan.  

The WellEagle Coordinator will create and implement campus-wide Mental Health and Wellness health promotion programming that will include education and awareness training for faculty, staff and students. They will develop programs as well as policy, program evaluation, peer education and social media marketing/promotion. The Coordinator will collaborate with campus and community partners to further efforts. They will assist with collecting data to report to grant administrators.  This position will play a key role in the mental health literacy efforts on the Daytona Beach campus.

Duties for this position include:

• Development and implementation of mental health and wellness strategies aimed at increasing college students’ mental well-being and maximizing students’ ability to attain academic success, and aid in prevention education (e.g. suicide, AOD).
• Utilization of theory and research to inform prevention priorities; using evaluation to assess prevention outcomes.
• Seeking and cultivating interdisciplinary campus and community partnerships that advance mental health and wellness promotion initiatives.
• Using mental health communication strategies and social marketing as part of a comprehensive prevention programming.
• Coordinating program’s social media efforts.
• Coordinate all general outreach such as education presentations/trainings, tabling events, and other opportunities to interface with the campus community.
• Serve on relevant campus committees and workgroups.
• Campus and community referral development.
• Oversee parts of grant administration (e.g. data collection and report writing).
• Oversee the student organization (Active Minds) and future supportive peer groups.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in health education, public health, or other specific health-related area, and two years of work experience in a capacity related to duties to be performed; or a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field. Health Promotions, Counseling, Psychology
• Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive, population-based prevention programming particularly diverse populations.
• Experience in applying an ecological framework to prevention strategies particularly with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated commitment, interest and experience in working with issues of diversity.
• Demonstrated skills in with organizing and managing multiple complex job duties.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and organizational skills required to develop and maintain policies, procedures and clinical delivery systems.
• Excellent communication, consultation and collaboration skills.
• Flexibility, creativity and resourcefulness are necessary characteristics in managing the roles as administrator, clinician, and consultant to the campus community.
• Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading peer education programs including development of curriculum, recruiting and training peer educators/support as well as coordinating peer educator/support trainings and presentations.
• Experience in facilitating groups, leading discussions, and providing presentations to student populations including diverse populations.
• Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive suicide prevention programs.
• Experience with innovative outreach and education programs.
• Experience in working with campus and community coalitions.
• Supervision experience with college students.
• Demonstrated experiences with organizing and implementing larger scale public health initiatives.
• Experience with developing and implementing social marketing campaigns.
