Working Title Web Content and Engagement Specialist
Brief Summary of Job Description Position creates, edits and publishes compelling content for unk.edu, including writing copy, proofreading and building pages. Uses web design, content management and search engine optimization (SEO) software. Also maintains site for accuracy and timely content, creates reports and integrates photos / video to improve user experience. Web Content Specialist helps define and execute strategies for the use of the web to engage prospective and enrolled students, faculty/staff, alumni and other stakeholders. Position is located in UNK Communications and Marketing and is expected to execute a visually appealing, brand-focused web experience across the entire domain.
Job Duties
  • Create, edit and publish compelling content on unk.edu using web design, content management and search engine optimization (SEO) software; Includes writing copy, proofreading and building pages
  • Develop and execute plans for scheduled content updates for college landing pages and priority department pages. Maintain site for accuracy and timely content
  • Provide quality assurance and SEO support via SEMRUSH and SiteImprove. This includes creating strategies to improve online visibility, running reports and site maintenance.
  • Improve user experience by assisting with creation of dynamic web content
  • Track, analyze and report on website analytics; Recommend and implement updates to improve web performance
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a content review schedule; Eliminate redundant, outdated information
Required Qualifications Associate Degree in multimedia, communications, web design, information technology, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript
Photo / video content creation
Physical Demands
Schedule M-F 8am-5pm, 40 hours
