We are currently hiring a Warehouse & Shipping Supervisor to join the team at our Evaporation Facility in Goderich, Ontario.
Compass Minerals’ Goderich Plant has operated since 1867, after an unsuccessful search for oil uncovered a vast bed of rock salt under Goderich. Using mechanical evaporation, the plant produces high-purity, fine- and coarse-grained salt products in packages and in bulk for commercial, agricultural and industrial applications. The plant also packages rock salt from the mine that is used for deicing and water conditioning.
Goderich is named Canada’s Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1.5 hours from London and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.
How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Exceeding bagging line efficiencies above established standards.

Coaching employees in Environmental Health, Safety, and Security.

Coaching employees in Food Safety.

Scheduling manpower, CIP duties including leadership.
-
Effectively assigning of manpower to support efficient plant operations.

Be an integral part of the hiring process for labour.

Oversee the plant finished goods inventory to maintain accurate inventory and finished goods inventory cycle counting.

Manage the shipping activity of finished goods to ensure food safety policies are adhered to. Supervisor the compaction process.

Enter production batches into the E1 system.

Resolve issues surrounding the inventory control system in E1 including inventory reconciliation, vacation scheduling, truck scheduling, and logging.

Liaise with customer service, truck drivers, logistics, and credit.

Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
what should you bring to the role?

Minimum High School Diploma, preferred post-secondary education in a related field.

5 years’ experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing setting.

Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
