The Office of Technology and Digital Innovation’s (OTDI) Enterprise Networking team is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of video-based systems supported by OTDI including IP video encoders, off-air and satellite signal acquisition, QAM encoders, video routers, signal analyzers, and fiber optic video transport hardware. The Specialist will, under general guidance, utilize industry knowledge and professional experience in the application of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform related tasks. They will communicate with coworkers and customers to support and troubleshoot Moves/Adds/Changes, repairs, and other projects. 

 

The Specialist provides accurate documentation and attention to detail while performing Tier 2 support for the suite of OTDI video services (Broadcast, IPTV and CATV). They will work on projects of moderate scope and complexity. With minimal supervision, the Specialist will recognize and solve routine video issues and work independently and as part of a team to contribute to an environment focused on effective video systems. The Specialist will perform video service operations through reactive triaging and troubleshooting, identification and resolution of video issues, and participation in a weekly on-call schedule and occasional after-hours support. All these responsibilities will be accomplished with an eye towards maintaining the integrity and security of both infrastructure and connected devices while advocating for the stability and scalability of the overall campus network services. 

Required Education/Experience:

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience with video systems, and video delivery.  

· Demonstrated knowledge of how to install and test Broadcast, IPTV and CATV infrastructure, including hardware config and support.  

· Candidate must possess a strong work ethic and have a demonstrated history of working well in a team-oriented enforcement. 

· Two or more years of fiber optic and copper cabling and testing experience for video distribution systems. 

· Great written and verbal customer service and communication skills with ability to convey technical information with clarity and concision.

 

· Ability to learn new technologies and methods and work both independently and within a team. 

· A valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to respond to emergencies after hours.  

Desired Education/Experience:

· 4+ years’ experience with video systems, and video delivery. 

· Knowledge of BICSI, Jones/NCTI, and other industry and AV standards.  

· Knowledge of installation and turn up of LAN switching equipment, proper terminations of coaxial cable and fiber optic cable connections. 

Additional Information:

The targeted hiring range for this position is $20.53-$27.36.
