Vetting Officer, USAID/West Bank & Gaza Accountable Local Governance (ALG) Activity

Project Background

USAID/West Bank and Gaza (WBG) Accountable Local Governance (ALG) Activity is a four-year, four months project that aims to improve the delivery of essential public services and to promote inclusive and accountable governance. The Activity interventions will improve service delivery, enhance the effectiveness of municipal operations, strengthen local government unit (LGU) fiscal management, and build resilience to shocks and stressors. The Activity will strengthen municipal responsiveness to citizens’ priorities and concerns, enhance civic engagement in local governance with a focus on under-represented and marginalized groups, and help connect LGUs, civil society, and other institutions to improve service delivery and enhance accountable governance.

Position Purpose

The Vetting Officer will act as the primary point of contact for matters related to vetting under Mission Order 21 as well as verification of documents submitted by partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries including EBDs, background documents, and grantee files.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide vetting assistance in compliance with Mission Order 21.
  • Manage the vetting tracker.
  • Ensure the collection of proper documents for vetting and related processes.
  • Work with the team to ensure accurate completion of Partner Information Forms.
  • Perform data entry related to the online submission of PIFs.
  • Maintain the record of vetting status of subcontractors, grantees, consultants, and beneficiaries.
  • Maintain master files for vetting documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least four years’ relevant work experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Strong tracking and reporting skills with attention to details.
  • High level of interpersonal and diplomatic skills required.
  • Previous work experience in the Middle East desired.
  • Ability to maintain and build strong professional relationships with a wide range of beneficiaries and organizations.

The Vetting Officer will report to the Sr. HR and Administration Officer
