Summary of Duties:
This position is assigned to the Small Animal Internal Medicine and Transfusion Medicine Services. It will provide veterinary technical support and assist in all aspects of animal care and the operation of the in-house blood bank service. It will assist students, technicians, and clinicians in all aspects of patient care, including, but not limited to, patient handling, medical treatments, maintaining hospital cleanliness, ordering, and stocking supplies, maintaining daily patient records, recording procedures performed, medications given, and general work-up of patients. Enter patient information and charges into hospital medical records system and will observe animals for sickness or abnormalities. It will further support blood bank operations through assistance with blood donations, blood processing, blood inventory management, donor medical records, recruitment, and other record keeping.
Required Qualifications:
One year of experience as an Animal Technician 1; OR equivalent education/experience.
Must pass WSU radiation safety training exam first time it is available.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic

Monthly Salary: Range #32, $2,697 – $3,480. Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
