Organization Mission

The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) is a statutory body established to coordinate, promote, support, and advocate for youth development initiatives across Malawi. As the leading institution for youth affairs, NYCOM works to empower young people by creating opportunities for participation, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, skills development, and socio-economic advancement.

Through strategic partnerships with government, development partners, civil society organizations, and the private sector, NYCOM champions policies and programs that enhance the welfare and potential of Malawi’s youth. The Council serves as a platform that amplifies the voices of young people, ensuring their active involvement in national development processes and decision-making.

Our mission is to empower and inspire young people to become productive, responsible, and transformative citizens who contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of Malawi.

Context

The 2026 National Youth Summit in Malawi is a pivotal event designed to connect young people with opportunities in employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation. To ensure the summit’s message reaches every corner of the country and beyond, the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) is launching a nationwide digital awareness campaign. Building on the content created by our creative teams, we are recruiting a large team of passionate online volunteers to amplify these messages. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a major national event, gain experience in digital advocacy, and help empower Malawian youth.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for 100 passionate Online Volunteers to act as Digital Awareness Ambassadors. Your role will be to help us amplify lifesaving and opportunity-focused messages for the National Youth Summit. As part of a nationwide volunteer team, you will promote awareness by sharing ready-made campaign materials on your personal social media platforms.

Required Skills and Experience

• An active user of social media platforms (especially Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, or LinkedIn).
• A strong network or followers in Malawi is highly desirable.
• A keen interest in youth development, community empowerment, or national development is an asset.
• Must be self-motivated and able to participate in collaborative virtual sessions.
