Outline

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage the highest quality candidates in undergraduate Medicine & Science programs to consider undertaking an ILP or Honours Project commencing in Term 1 2023.

By applying for the Faculty of Medicine Honours Scholarships you may be considered for the following scholarships depending on the individual scholarship criteria. More scholarships may be added to this list progressively.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria Selection Criteria

UNSW Medicine Rehabilitation ILP Award (UGCA1593)
$5,000 for 1 year

  • Be enrolled in the BMed/MD degree at UNSW at the time of application
  • Be entering their fourth year in 2023 and undertaking the ILP in Rehabilitation.
  • Academic Merit

UNSW Medicine Program Education Award (UGCA1558)
$5,000 for 1 year

  • Applicants must be entering the fourth year of a BMed/MD degree at UNSW in 2023
  • Be eligible to undertake an ILP or Honours Project in the field of Medical Education
  • Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen
  • Academic merit
  • Aptitude and commitment to the preferred program of study.
  • The quality of the ILP or Honours Proposal and potential impact of the research in the field of Medical Education

David Walsh Memorial Scholarship (UGCA1064)
$5,000 for 1 year

  • Be an undergraduate student proposing to undertake the one year Honours Program in Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science) or Science (Medicine) Honours in developmental biology, genetics or biochemistry and their relationship to developmental birth defects
  • Academic merit
  • An Honours thesis proposal with a thesis topic in the area of birth defects

You must provide evidence supporting the above criteria in your online application. Please refer to the Scholarship Application Supporting Documents for a detailed list of examples.

Unanswered application questions or claims without supporting documentation will not be assessed. Late applications/supporting documentation will not be accepted.

UNSW reserves the right not to award a scholarship, where there is no applicant of sufficient merit, or if the applicant does not meet the scholarship eligibility and/or selection criteria.
