University Project Assistant / PhD Position (m/f/d) in the field of software design

The Vehicle Safety Institute aims to make future mobility safer and more sustainable thereby combines zero emissions with VisionZero in their research collaborating with international universities, car manufactures, suppliers and assessment institutions.

Within our research, tests are carried out on self-developed test benches as well as simulations in various environments (from battery deformations to injury prediction with virtual human models and interactions of automated vehicles with other road users such as pedestrians).

This requires methods for conducting experiments and analysing data, where the development of our own, tailor-made, software is becoming increasingly important. We are therefore looking for people who can support our interdisciplinary software team in the further development of ideas and contribute with new impulses.

The Vehicle Safety Institute at TU Graz has an opening for a

University Project Assistant / PhD Position (m/f/d) in the field of software design

30-40 hours/week, Start by arrangement

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, creation and further development of software (design, programming, software documentation) in the various application areas of vehicle safety (data analysis, test execution, test bench programming, simulation, machine learning), depending on the area of interest.
• Development and implementation of (automated) software tests
• Application of self-developed software for scientific questions in the field of vehicle safety
• Possibility of a dissertation (if you already have a Master’s degree, otherwise other employment is also possible).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Completed master or diploma studies, preferably degree in “Information and Computer Engineering”, “Computer Science” or “Software Development“
• Good knowledge of software design and development (preferably in Python) Profound English skills
• You enjoy data analysis and interactive presentation in web applications
• Willingness to learn and curiosity about complex contexts (analytical grasp)
• High motivation and independence

We offer a minimum annual gross salary based on full-time of € 42,820.40, overpayment possible depending on qualification and experience.
