Offer DescriptionAdvertisement of a position at the University of Leoben, AustriaUniversity professorshipfor the subject areaProcessing of Composites and Design for Recyclingaccording § 98 UGAt the Montanuniversität, the position of a University professor at the Department Polymer Engineering and Science is to be filled as a permanent employment contract under private law with the Montanuniversität Leoben in accordance with the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz) with full employmentWe are looking for a personality of international scientific standing who represents the subject of Processing of Composites and Design for Recycling in research and teaching.The professorship should include in teaching and research at least:
- Processing technologies for the production of components from polymer-based composite materials
- Development, automation and simulation of the respective processes
- Recycling of composite materials
The following focal points in research and teaching are to be covered:
- The manufacture of components from polymer-based fiber composites using pioneering technologies
- Innovative manufacturing processes and modern methods of modeling and simulating manufacturing processes
- Material and process selection to achieve recyclability of polymer-based composites
- Recycling processes for thermoplastic and thermoset-based composites
In teaching, courses are to be held in German and English in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes. Supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and dissertations is expected. Employment requirements include a domestic or equivalent foreign university degree appropriate to the position, a relevant doctorate and a habilitation or equivalent academic qualification (e.g. significant research activity in industry with publication activity). Further requirements are pedagogical and didactic aptitude, including new methods in teaching, qualification as a manager and command of the English language. Knowledge of the German language or the willingness to learn it is desirable.Experience in the acquisition and implementation of funded research projects at national and international level with scientific and industrial cooperation partners is of great importance. The application for funded research projects is expected. In addition to a high level of personal motivation for scientific excellence in research and teaching, we expect a responsible approach to work, a willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation with other chairs at Montanuniversität Leoben, in particular within the Department Polymer Engineering and Science (see also ), as well as with national and international research institutions. In this context, expertise in the relevant materials and their properties as well as in the design of composites is also desired.We offer a varied and independent job in a team-oriented working atmosphere with extensive opportunities for further training and development. Montanuniversität promotes career paths and offers excellent conditions for social diversity in a contemporary working environment.Classification and remuneration are in accordance with the collective agreement of the universities in the application group A1. In this classification, the gross monthly salary under the collective agreement for full-time employment is € 6.362,50 gross (14 times a year). The actual salary is the subject of the appointment negotiations.The Montanuniversität Leoben aims to increase the proportion of women and therefore explicitly invites qualified women to apply.
