Then join our accomplished team!Your personal sphere of influence:As PhD student in a predoctoral position at the Department of History, you actively participate in research, teaching and administration in the field of Early Modern History, in the Faculty’s key research area of “Women’s and Gender History” and in the eponymous research cluster of the Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies.The main focus of your work will be on your PhD dissertation, preferably in the fields of the history of violence and/or gender history of the early modern period (16th to 18th century).The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a declaration of non-extension.Your future tasks:You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of Early Modern History.
  • You work on your dissertation and its completion.
  • You teach classes independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.
  • You will participate in the activities of the Chair of Early Modern History (conferences, publications, etc.)
  • We expect the conclusion of the dissertation agreement within 12 to 18 months.
