As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Solid State Physics, in the Research Unit of Functional and Magnetic Materials TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant prae-doc (all genders) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: September 2025.The research group of Andrej Pustogow performs fundamental research on materials with strong electronic interactions. Phenomena like magnetism, superconductivity and thermoelectricity are studied comprehensively, all of which are relevant for applications in our digital society. Particular focus is on controlling and obtaining materials properties ‘on demand’ by means of physical pressure, strain and chemical substitution. Apart from standard techniques like measurements of electrical resistivity and magnetic properties, a broad palette of complementary methods is utilized, including thermal conductivity, Seebeck effect, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), optical spectroscopy, as well as materials synthesis and preparation. Experiments are carried out routinely at low (liquid helium) and high (up to 900 K) temperatures as well as under strong magnetic fields (up to 14 T).Tasks:

- Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks
Your profile:
- Completion of a relevant master or diploma curriculum
- Skillful and responsible in experimental work
- Experience in the relevant scientific fields (not required)
- Very good skills in German and English communication and writing
- Interest in research in the field as well as supervision and work with students
- Very good communicative skills and team competences and innovative ability
