As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Sensor and Actuator Systems, in the Research Unit of Micro- and Nanosensors TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 40 hours/week, in the field of nanomechanical infrared spectroscopy for environmental sensing with focus on nanoplastic detection and identification.Tasks:

• Research and project activity
• Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
• Cooperation and guidance of students
• Writing a dissertation and publications
• Participation in scientific events
• Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completion of a master’s or diploma curriculum in one of these fields: physics, electrical engineering, or similar
• Skillful and responsible in experimental and theoretical work
• Very good skills in English communication and writing
• Interest in research in the field of optomechanics, nanoelectromechanical systems, and sensor technology as well as supervision and work with students
• Very good communication skills and team competencies and innovative ability
