As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Discrete Mathematics and Geometry, the Research Unit of Applied Geometry is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: October 2025.Tasks:

• Research on topics of the research unit (e.g. applied geometry, discrete geometric structures, discrete differential geometry, geometry processing)
• Teaching tasks (geometry in architecture, mathematics, and in teacher training) as well as examinations
• Cooperation and guidance of students
• Cooperation with the Center for Geometry and Computational Design
• Writing a dissertation and publications
• Participation in scientific events
• Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in Mathematics or similar
• Experience in the following scientific fields: (classical/applied) geometry (not required)
• Very good skills in German and English communication and writing
• Interest in research in the field as well as supervision and work with students
• Very good communicative skills and team competences and innovative ability
