As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics, in the Research Group for Regelungsmethoden-Energiesysteme TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: July 2024.Tasks:

  • Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
  • Cooperation with and guidance of students
  • Research and project activity
  • Writing a dissertation and publications
  • Participation in scientific events
  • Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in one of these fields: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical and Process Engineering, or similiar
  • Skillful and responsible in the scientific method
  • Experience in the following scientific fields are not required but desirable: Control theory (particularly optimal control, nonlinear control, state estimation), optimization, treatment of distributed systems, as well as experiences in industrial / process engineering applications.
  • Very good skills in German and English (communication and writing)
  • Interest in research in the field as well as in supervising and working with students
  • Very good communicative skills, team competencies and innovative abilities
