As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Discrete Mathematics and Geometry, in the Research Unit of Differential Geometry and Geometric Structures TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: September 2024.Tasks:

• Supervision of exercise classes and seminars for mathematics students as well as for students on the geometry teacher training program
• Working on a doctoral thesis in Geometry
• Deepening your scientific knowledge
• Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks
• Participation in scientific events

Your profile:

• Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in mathematics
• Experience in the following scientific fields: Differential Geometry (desired, not required)
• Very good skills in German (desired) and English communication and writing
• Interest in the research field as well as in supervision and work with students
• Very good communication skills and team qualities
