As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Architecture and Design, in the Research Unit of Building Theory by Design, TU Wien is offering a position as a university assistant (prae-doc) limited until the end of January 2025 or at the latest until the duration of leave of absence for 30 hours/week. Expected start: August 2024.Tasks:

  • Research and project activity within the international EU Project BUILD CARE (https://www.buildcare-project.eu/)
  • Conducting research with a vulnerable participant group (children with stroke and their families)
  • Participation in regular online and in-person meetings related to the BUILD CARE project
  • Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
  • Deepening of scientific expertise
  • Scientific publication activities (journal articles, conferences)
  • Assistance/Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Completion of a Master’s or Diploma degree program in architecture, anthropology, human geography or related fields
  • Knowledge of scientific work methods
  • Research experience in the field of healthcare design
  • Experience with conducting empirical research using participatory methods
  • Interest in teaching and supervising students with a focus on the research process, research methods and application of research results in the healthcare design field
  • Excellent command of German and English in communication and writing
  • Very good communication skills and readiness to work in a large multi-disciplinary (architecture, neuroscience, health economics) international research team
  • Readiness to conduct research in close contact with vulnerable participant groups
  • Experience in research with vulnerable participant groups (children or adult patients in healthcare facilities) is an advantage
  • Experience in the application of findings from neuroscience to architectural design is an advantage
