Welcome aboard!Become part of our team!The Section for International Law and International Relations is one of the leading teaching and research institutions in Europe, which deal with the central issues of international law. For the support of the research team of Prof. Reinisch we are looking for a jurist with a strong interest in international law in particular international investment law. The position is limited to 6 years and is planned to be filled from August 2024.Your future tasks:Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• You build up an independent research profile with a focus on investment law.
• You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of international law with a focus on investment law.
• You publish in international and present your research at national and international conferences, meetings and symposia.
• You actively engage in applying for third-party funds.
• Preparation/Finalization of a (publishable) habilitation.
• You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
• You supervise students and participate in examination activities.
• You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
• You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality:

• Finished PhD in law, with focus on international law
• Verified research activity in the area of specialisation
• Several years of independent teaching activity at an educational institution
• Experience in the development of university teaching concepts and examination formats
• Computer skills
• High level of written and oral expression
• Languages German, English (excellent written and spoken skills)
• Ability to work in a team

You have additional qualifications that may be of benefit to you, such as:

• Ideally extensive experience in teaching/experience in e-learning
• Moot Court Coaching experience (international law)
• Experience in knowledge management
• Experience in project management of thírd party funded research projects
• Experience of organizing events
• Knowledge of university structures and processes
• (International) Publications and lectures
• Publications and experience in scientific research, preferably publications in the area of specialisation.
• Practical experience in multilateral cooperation in the area of specialisation; knowledge of university procedures and structures; knowledge of other languages
• Proven awareness of diversity/expertise in diversity
