As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Visual Computing and Human-Centered Technology, in the Research Unit of Visual Analytics TU Wien is offering a position as University Assistant Post-Doc (all genders) until expected September 30th, 2030 for 40 hours/week.Tasks:

  • Research in the field of Visual Analytics and Visualization (focus on network visualization, time, space, and uncertainty)
  • Independent teaching or participation in teaching and supervision of students
  • Deep interest in scientific problems and the motivation for independent and goal-oriented research
  • Project work and leading project groups
  • Publication activities
  • The ability to develop methods, and concepts, as well as their realization and evaluation and the willingness to contribute to interdisciplinary scientific projects
  • Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures
  • Very good skills in English communication and writing. Knowledge of German (level B2) or willingness to learn it in the first year

Your profile:

  • Completed doctoral studies in computer science or equivalent university studies at home or abroad
  • Knowledge of scientific work
  • Experience in project management and presentations
  • In-depth knowledge in the field
  • Interdisciplinary work
  • Experience in teaching and publishing activities
  • Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
  • Interest and pleasure in research and working with students
  • Ability to work in a team and problem-solving skills
  • Teaching in German and English is expected
