As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.The Research Unit of Applied Statistics of the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics at TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (post-doc) limited to expected 6 years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: October 2024.Tasks:

  • Development and implementation of novel statistical methodology and software
  • Contribution to joint group research
  • Publication of results at leading journals, workshops and conferences
  • Independent teaching or participation in teaching and supervision of students
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research division and the faculty

Your profile:

  • PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and in-depth knowledge of the subject area
  • Strong potential for independent and collaborative scholarship leading to scholarly publications
  • Experience in national and international research projects and presentations
  • Experience in teaching and publication activities as well as interest in research/supervision with/of students
  • Organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent command of the English language and communication skills/ aptitude for teamwork
