As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.The Research Unit of Applied Statistics in the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics at TU Wien has a university assistant (post-doc) opening for 40 hours/week, limited until expected 28.02.2025 or for the duration of cover for leave of absence. Expected start date: September 2024.Tasks:
- Carry out collaborative and independent research in Statistics
- Teaching: Create and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments to ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with the latest academic and/or industry trends
- Supervision of students
- Professional Development: Stay current with emerging trends and challenges in Statistics, pursue opportunities for professional growth
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research unit and the faculty
Your profile:
- PhD in Statistics or related fields
- Demonstrated experience in or potential for teaching and curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate level
- Demonstrated ability or potential to work independently and collaboratively
- Organizational and analytical skills as well as a structured way of working
- Excellent command of the English language and very good communication skills
