As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration with business and industry and contributes to the prosperity of society.At the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics, in the Research Unit of Measurement and Actuator Technology TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (post-doc) limited to expected 2 years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: July 2024.Tasks:

  • Teaching of courses in (at least one) of the areas: Measurement and vibration technology, modal analysis, finite element methods, as well as co-supervision of bachelor-, master- and PhD-students
  • Research and project work in the fields of FE modeling, acoustics, topology optimization, model order reduction, or control engineering
  • Preparation of publications and participation in scientific events
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research division and the faculty

Your profile:

  • Completion of an appropriate doctorate (mechanical engineering, mathematics, physics, or related fields)
  • In-depth knowledge in at least one of the fields: measurement and vibration technology, finite element methods, acoustics, topology optimization, model order reduction, or (FEM) modeling of coupled field problems
  • Experience in scientific work and scientific writing (publications)
  • Excellent knowledge of English (working language), and knowledge of German (e.g., for some course materials) is an advantage
  • Experience in university teaching is an advantage
  • Knowledge in scientific software development (C++, Julia, …) is an advantage
  • Good organizational and analytical skills, as well as a structured way of working
