The University of Vienna (20 faculties and centres, 184 fields of study, approx. 10.400 members of staff, about 90.000 students) seeks to fill the position from 01.09.2023 of a University Assistant (post doc) at the Department of Economics to 31.08.2029. Reference number : 13525 The Department of Economics is part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics. We are a highly international and research-oriented Department. More than 30 full-time junior and senior professors together with numerous PhD students form an international community dedicated to studying all aspects of economics. Information about the Department of Economics can be found on the website at http://econ.univie.ac.at. Duration of employment: 6 year/s Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement : §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade. Job Description: Participation in research, teaching and administration – Participation in research projects – (International) publishing and presentation activities – Project application and (external) fundraising – Holding classes due to extent regulations of wage agreement – Examination activities – Support of students – Participation in evaluation activities and in quality assurance – Participation in the administration of the institute/department. Profile: Applicants must have completed a PhD in Economics before starting their employment at the University of Vienna (proposed starting date is September 2023). Expertise in microeconomic theory is required. Knowledge of German is an asset but not required. Applications should include a curriculum vitae detailing the candidate’s education, teaching expertise, list of publications, and a letter of motivation.
