And everyone, in their own unique way, plays an important part, every day.Performs a variety of clerical activities necessary for the efficient functioning of patient care unit and related duties.GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Unit Secretary is responsible for clerical and receptionist duties for the assigned unit. The Unit Secretary maintains a neat and orderly work area and is instrumental in attaining and maintaining good interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and ancillary personnel.WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Previous clerical experience required. Understanding of medical terminology required.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or GED required. Receives on the job training including electronic medical record, as well as office automation equipment training.
