Undergraduate Research Scholarship Program

In Semester 3, 2022, UniSQ will offer a number of Undergraduate Research Scholarships giving UniSQ undergraduate students the opportunity to work with world-class researchers gaining invaluable research, professional and academic skills.  Students will have the opportunity to establish academic and industry connections and discover research before engaging in research projects and higher degree studies.

Projects are available for between 6-10 weeks over Semester 3 2022 with projects being situated in the Academic Division, a research institute/centre or co-located across both the Academic Division and a research institute/centre.

Value

Scholarships will have different values dependent on funding sources as below:

  • Undergraduate Research Scholarships will have a maximum value of $2000.
  • NO WASTE and SIMPLE summer research program scholarships will have a maximum value of $5000.

Eligibility

The Undergraduate Research Scholarship Program applicants must:

  • be enrolled in an UniSQ undergraduate program (NOTE: TPP students are not eligible);
  • have completed at least 8 units of study but have not completed all units of study in their program (i.e., students who are eligible to graduate are not able to apply for this scholarship);
  • be studying in a program relevant to the selected research project/s;
  • have a high level of academic achievement as indicated by a GPA of 5.5 or above; and
  • have an interest in undertaking postgraduate HDR studies (PhD or masters).

Selection criteria

Undergraduate Research Scholarship Program applications will be assessed by the Associate Dean (Research) in consultation with project supervisors.

No Waste and Simple project applications will be assessed by the supervisors of these projects.

Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis with consideration of the following:

  • undertaking a related undergraduate program
  • the academic standing of the applicant;
  • reasons for wanting to participate in the program; and
  • project availability.

Choose a project from the list of available projects as below:

Contact the Principal Supervisor to obtain more information about the project prior to submitting your application. This should not be left to the last moment nor be a cursory contact. Your engagement with the supervisors is reflective of your reasons and motivations for wanting to participate in the program;

Only one application can be submitted but more than one project may be identified as a second and third option. You do not have to indicate a second or third option.

Submit the completed Application Form  to the HES Associate Dean (Research) by 5.00pm (AEST) Monday 10 October 2022.
