Are you interested in joining a dynamic team, in making a difference to people’s lives, and in delivering excellent customer service?  We have an exciting opportunity to join our undergraduate team within Admissions & Applicant Services supporting applicants as they embark on higher education study.  We are recruiting to one permanent role and one fixed-term role (providing maternity cover.)

The Service is responsible for responding to enquiries from potential applicants, and for guiding and supporting applicants through their journey from application to enrolment.  These roles are responsible for offering advice and guidance on entry requirements and applicants’ suitability, for making decisions on applications, and for confirming applicants’ places on receipt of exam results.   We are looking for motivated individuals who can deliver outstanding customer service.  The post holders must be confident communicating via email, live chat, over the telephone, and face to face.

The role is varied due to the large number of applications and the wide range of enquiries we receive and the post holders must be able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment.  Successful candidates will have a strong attention for detail and be able to demonstrate the ability to solve problems, ensure that work is carried out effectively, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.  As a Service, we continually review our practices to ensure we are delivering excellent customer service, and the post holder will be expected to contribute to the development of the Service through the review of existing working practices, systems, and processes while making recommendations for improvements.

Further information regarding the post can be found in the job description.

The University of Hull offers exciting career opportunities alongside a wide range of staff benefits, including a generous annual leave allowance, annual increments until you reach the top of your Band, access to a competitive pension scheme with employer contributions, discounted gym membership of our state of the art Sports and Exercise Facility and the opportunity to work on a campus set in beautiful grounds where you will find a wide range of food and drink venues.

We encourage agile working where possible, so whilst the University campus will be your contractual place of work and you will be required to attend campus for defined activities, there will also be opportunities to adopt an element of agile working, for example some flexibility to working location. This would be within defined parameters and with the agreement of your line manager.

The roles are full-time, Monday to Friday, however, part-time job-shares may be available. The successful candidates must be willing to comply with holiday restrictions at certain times of the year and to work occasional weekends to support recruitment events.

To discuss these roles informally, please contact Elizabeth Brook by email at [email protected]
