Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a staff team.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or peer helping skills.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience living in communal environments and/or university leadership involvement.
  • Experience in customer service-oriented positions or helping roles.

Typical Experience:

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • UA student enrolled full-time, 12 credit hours throughout employment duration.
  • Maintains a 2.5 cumulative GPA throughout employment period.

Required Education or Training:

Full time (12 credits) student status
Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required at time of application and throughout employment
Preference given to candidates with a 2.5 cumulative GPA
Must be in good conduct standing with UAS Student Housing

Training is provided to all student staff of Student Housing. This training includes; participation in new student employee orientation facilitated by campus partners in Career Service and Human Resources, paid training periods prior to the beginning of each academic semester, continued training through weekly one-on-one meetings with direct supervisors, weekly staff meetings which may include in-service training.

Specific training and certifications include but are not limited to diversity awareness, housing policies and procedures, student development theory, suicide prevention training, sexual assault prevention training, and conflict mediation.

Salary Information:

This position’s benefits include provided housing at no cost, $11.34 hourly wages available for administrative tasks, and a $750 meal plan per semester of employment.
