Job Description:

Recreation Services at Iowa State University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Turf and Field Management Specialist ll.

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and upkeep of all Recreation Services outdoor facilities and will focus primarily on Turf Management. Duties will include but not limited to mowing, fertilizing, pesticide applications, aeration, trash/debris pickup, painting fields, minor facility repairs, preventative maintenance on all equipment used to maintain fields and facilities

During the off-season, duties will include minor cardio and weight equipment repairs along with indoor facility maintenance.

Typical work hours for this position will be Monday-Friday, regular day hours.

We would prefer that a candidate be licensed in the State of Iowa to apply pesticides or be willing to obtain one.

• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
• Provides guidance to students
