Trees and woodlands are a key feature of the borough, with an evolving urban forest, surrounded
by beautiful Hampshire villages and the North Wessex Downs Area National Landscape. We place

health, providing a resource for residents and visitors, habitats for wildlife and contributing
to the council’s key priorities, along with the Green Infrastructure and climate change
strategies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who will be working alongside
ecologists, landscape architects and parks officers in the Natural Environment Team. You will
be involved in the management of trees and woodlands, delivering the tree strategy for the
benefit of residents, businesses, and nature, as well as providing a consultative service to
the council as the Planning Authority in respect of tree-related matters within the Town &
Country Planning Act.

You will have a proven track record of working in a similar environment, a thorough knowledge
and detailed understanding of current issues and professional practices is essential, combined
with excellent communication and team working skills.

This position would best suit someone who wants to exercise their knowledge and professional
skills within a wide and demanding range of arboricultural responsibilities, to make a
difference and be motivated by having a diverse and varied workload. You will be able to work
independently as well as working in a team environment, be that in the office or working from
home. The role will involve working with colleagues, councillors, residents and external bodies
and partners.
